MARGARET FLEMING (nee SMITH) 1817 – 1891 Margaret was born on 28 March,1817 at Brechin. She was the daughter of David Smith, farmer, and Margaret, ( formerly Gock). Margaret and Charles Fleming had eight children. Their youngest son William, who travelled to Dunedin with them in the Auckland, as a teenager, was a Presbyterian minister ‘m rural Otago and became the first Manager of Ross Home for the aged in North East Valley when it opened about 1918. |
