John Thom 1849 – 10 August 1888

John Thom had lived in New Zealand for 10 years at the time of his death, aged 39. He arrived from Scotland in 1878 and was a confectioner. He died at home at ‘Goudie’s Cottage’ on Maclaggan St. Margaret Thom was buried here in 1931 aged 77 after surviving her husband, daughter and son-in-law, (Emma and George Atkins), who are buried here also.
