Edmond Alfred Baldwin was a shoemaker employed in Sargood’s boot factory and lived in Union Street, Dunedin when, at the age of 20 years, he committed suicide by shooting himself while in the Town Belt. His parents were William James and Louisa Baldwin, however his mother later lived with or married Augustus William Anderson, and Edmond was later known by the surname Anderson as a result. His suicide apparently related to his family situation, he left a note to the effect that he had quarreled with a relative. (Some details from the Timaru Herald, 1 February 1887) |
