Walter Galland (1893 – 1970)

Walter, born in 1893, son of Henry Galland, a carpenter, and Jean McNeil, worked originally as a Ploughman and later as a Watersider in Dunedin.

On the 4th of October 1917, aged 24 years, he was married to Ethel Gollar at Octagon Hall, Dunedin, by a Methodist Minister, Clarence Easton. Witnesses to this marriage were Gladys Gould, a domestic and William Marston, French Polisher of 39 Harrow Street, Dunedin.

Walter Galland died aged 77 years, on the 26th April 1970 at 81 Clyde Street, Dunedin and was buried at the Northern Cemetery, on the 28th April 1970.
