Patience Mary Given (c.1840-1927) Patience was born in Southwark, Surrey, England and was the eldest daughter of John Careless and Patience Eseby Weeks. She emigrated to New Zealand with her parents and five siblings on the George Canning in 1857. She married Robert Given on the 28th January 1859 in First Church, Dunedin. Robert and Patience had 11 children. Patience Given died on 16th May 1927 aged 87. |
