Catherine McArthur

Catherine McArthur was the eighth of ten children of Duncan, a gamekeeper, and Ann, nee Massie , was born in Newtyle in Marykirk, Kincardineshire, Scotland.

Catherine never married, and came to New Zealand and lived at Woodhaugh. After 48 years, she died at age 75 at the Dunedin Hospital, of Cerebral Haemorrhage (14 days) and heart failure (5 days) 5 August 1921, and was buried 6 August. (Presbyterian).
