GEORGE SHERIFF 1836 – 1917

Born in 1836, St Cuthberts, Edinburgh, Scotland, the son of William Sherriff
and Isabella Middlemiss. He came to New Zealand from Scotland in 1850 on the
ship ‘Mariner’with his parents and 4 siblings. He worked as a butcher, never
married and died in 1917, aged 81.
