The ninth child of Annie Ireland and Michael Heads, Maggie was born on 6 May 1880 in Dunedin. There appear to be no school records for her. She worked as a domestic, helping with the patients at Seacliff Mental Hospital, where she died of epilepsy on 28 June 1911.
