Katherine Bathgate was the daughter of Alexander Bathgate and Janet Campbell. She was the half-sister of Judge John Bathgate and was the Matron of Otago Girls High School from 1885 to 1890. She died on 20th August 1908 and is buried here in the cemetery with her half-brother, his wife Mary and their son John Bathgate.
