Harriet Brenchley Monson was the wife of George Bernard Monson. He worked for the New Zealand Railway Department, so they lived in the station house at Burnside. Harriet died on 16th August 1907, having given birth to baby Harriet on 3rd August 1907. Sadly she preceded her husband and baby by a very short time, they both died soon after, leaving three young children remaining of the family.
