W elcome to the website of the Northern Cemetery.  This website brings together information from many different research sources to offer you a unique view of one of New Zealand's most interesting cemeteries.

T his website was set up by the Southern Heritage Trust which has its base in the Sextons Cottage where it maintains an information centre and provides help to visitors to the cemetery.

T he cemetery remembers many of Dunedin's and New Zealand's early settlers and founding residents, such as entrepreneur William Larnach, Charles Speight and Poet, Legislator and Journalist Thomas Bracken.

W e invite you to take a look around this site for a unique view of one of Dunedin's and New Zealand's oldest and story filled cemeteries.
